Change of Plans

Originally we were planning to go to Colt State Park, which is dog-friendly, for a fun family day while Chuck tried out his new radio controlled airplane. The weather just wasn't very cooperative so we decided to go to Walmart armed with some gift cards since my overall goal was to not spend any money (I know gift cards are spending). Clara Grace was able to find a couple of things that peaked her interest and left with a new Go Anywhere Girls pony/truck toy and a Disney Princess scooter. The spouse had a gift card to Best Buy and we stopped over there. He bought Journey to the Center of the Earth on Blu Ray and was super thrilled with the sale price.

So, once we made it home, Charles put the scooter together and we went outside into the gloomy but not raining weather so Clara Grace could try it out and we could wear the dog out with some fetch and a walk. She loves the new scooter but wore out before we began our walk so switched to her bicycle for that. We had a nice time!

After our outdoor time, we watched the new movie. Charles and I had already watched it and determined that CG would enjoy it and not be scared. She LOVED it and thought the 3D aspect was "really cool". We then broke out Monopoly Jr, which I highly recommend. We had so much fun with it and I was really impressed with how simple the game was yet really preparing them for the original game. I was the big loser. Charles was the big winner, but CG was not far behind him. Oh, and it also takes a while to play which definitely prepares them for the real deal.

All in all, it was a wonderful day and we had such a good time as a family.
