Catching Up

Geez, I've been such a slacker of late with my posts. I'll try to do a brief recap of what we have been up to.

For starters, I've been cleaning like crazy. To the point that Charles speculated that I must be "nesting". I have been washing all the baby clothing, bedding etc and installed the car seat, plus trying to get all the last minute things organized.

In addition to that, I've started moving on things to prepare for our move. This week I managed to send off for the certified copies of birth certificates since I have no desire to send out my only copy when we apply for passports. Hopefully the certificates arrive soon so we can move on that. I'm mentally cataloging what I will sell in a spring yard sale and then just printing checklists for other areas. Next week I will start the dog and cat on their path to getting cleared.

Also, I had my ladies coffee break on Wednesday, and yesterday I met my friend Christine at the zoo with her two little ones (pictures will be added later today) and then CG had ballet in the afternoon. Today I have my 36 week dr appointment.

So that why I've been absent with the blog lately. I'm afraid CG is getting sick, but will update on that later.

Iwakuni Bound!

Now that it has sunk in that I will be living in a foreign country for three years, I have begun doing a little research and trying to get organized in terms of what to do to prepare. I came across this site and thought I would share it with anyone wanting to learn a little bit about what we will be experiencing. This lady really did a fantastic job with this! If you are interested, click here and enjoy.

Hopefully I can report back to you within a week and say that I have a very detailed plan of what needs to be done and have already started getting some items checked off!

35 Week D/A Update

I'm always glad to go in for my appointments, however I always feel like I have very little to report when asked how it went. As I have less than five weeks until my due date (4 weeks and 6 days but who is counting lol) I am beginning to have swelling in my legs. It is not as bad as with CG, so I'm not really complaining, just looking for stuff to share. The wait is on and my doctor said today that if she were to guess his weight at birth she would say 7lb and some change. We'll see.

So that is my update. I go back in one week. I'll probably have even less to share at that time.

I have started washing baby clothes now and getting into the mode of preparing for his arrival. It is not that much longer!

News Update!

We now know where our next duty station is. Iwakuni, Japan.

I'm still adjusting to the news, so will blog more about it later.

On that note...Sayonara (obviously I'm going to have to work on my Japanese lol)

42 days to go!

Zachary Christian is due to arrive in 42 days. That is not long at all! That basically translates into me hitting the 34 week mark today, or 7 1/2 months, or halfway through my eighth month...whatever you prefer. It isn't far off. Of course he could arrive after his due date, but he could also arrive earlier which is the consideration that has me on my toes. We'll just have to wait and see!

By the way, if you haven't made a guess on his arrival and stats you might want to do that (you can get there by clicking here or on the expectnet button to the right of the page) since I'll likely close it down in another 2 to 3 weeks.

I'm feeling good for this stage and have no complaints. I have to admit that I'm entering the stage where I'm looking forward to the end of my physical restrictions. I am not the type that stops my physical activity too much while expecting, but this time around I find that I am just not as able to do certain things and have limitations that I find extremely annoying. I also find that I tire quickly these days and take frequent breaks. Ugh! That being said, I'm all for allowing Zach as much time as he needs to continue his development so he enters this world as healthy as possible. I'm also not eager for an induction so will go as far over my due date as my doctor thinks is healthy...no pressure from me at all.

This is getting lengthy, but I did make a couple of purchases for the little guy yesterday. I bought a few of those little caps to keep his head warm and a couple of pacifiers. Not big purchases at all, especially when you consider the caps were clearanced...but fun all the same!

On other fronts, CG has storytime at the library this morning and ballet this afternoon. I've been seriously slacking on pictures lately so hopefully I'll snap a pic or two during one of those activities. She is growing up on me far too quickly.

Updates!

Wow, I haven't even blogged yet this month! I'll try to briefly bring you up to date, but hopefully you do not get lost as I'm sure I'll get everything out of chronological order.

We have been rather busy this month, and I'm amazed we are already six days into the month. Let's see, we have been doing playdates, ice skating, storytime at the library, and ballet for starters.

Last Monday evening I met a friend with her husband and daughter at the ice skating rink. Her husband took the girls out on the ice while we chatted and watched. We had a nice time and the girls were sad to go even though they had been skating for over 1.5 hours!

We've had errands to run, and church, and Bible study too.

I'm now reading The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe to Clara Grace. She is loving it! We are averaging two chapters a day, which isn't too bad.

Today I had another appointment with the doctor. She said I'm growing and guessed the baby will be around 7lbs. We'll see. In my eyes that is a big baby considering my last was under 6lbs. I go back in two more weeks, and then it will be every week after that.

I think I did very well summing up the time! We are expecting warm weather over the weekend and Charles to be off, so hopefully some outdoor fun is in order after CG's ice skating lesson. Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share once it is over.
