Spring Break, Day 1

The Estonians are having spring break right now, so we are too.  We began our week of fun by meeting friends at the science and technology museum for kids here in Tallinn.  Here we are gathering at Freedom Square before going into the museum.  Please click on the link to learn more as it has a pretty cool history.  You can also watch this short video about the square:

Zach was standing on the glass at the square that allows you to actually look down at the foundation and stairs of Harju Gate Tower from medieval times.

Once we were inside the museum, the kids were able to just wander from exhibit to exhibit as it was one large room.  It was pretty easy to keep an eye on the both.  It was definitely not on the same scale as children's museums in the states or even Japan, but it was interactive and they had descriptions in English available at each exhibit.  The kids had a great time and only were lured out with the promise of putting food in their hungry little bellies.

Even though we ate at a kebab shop near the museum, I had packed plenty of food in case they got hungry.  The kids played outside for a few minutes after getting home and then I moved the living room furniture out of the way so they could have a picnic on their spring break.  Considering how much pizza they ate at the restaurant (Zach ate three pieces and Clara ate two) I was surprised at how much of the snacks they ate while I read them several stories.

Both kids seem quite worn out and it is only 4pm.  They should sleep well tonight.
